    JEFF BOERBOON

    MICHAEL LENTS

U.S. National Aerobatic Champion (Unlimited) and five-time USA Unlimited Aerobatic Team member, Jeff Boerboon, will showcase his skills flying the latest in aerobatic training aircraft, the Aura Aero Integral R, in the IAC's competition Sportsman category.  Meanwhile, US National Champion (Advanced) and three-time USA Advanced Aerobatic Team member, Michael "Mike" Lents, will take to the skies in the University of North Dakota Super Decathlon, used by the UND Aerobatic Team he coaches, competing in the IAC's Intermediate category.

Jeff is a championship aerobatic pilot, airshow performer, and captain for a major U.S. airline based in Cave Creek, Arizona. With decades of aviation experience, he is widely respected for his precision flying, technical expertise, and contributions to the aerobatic community.

Jeff is the current U.S. National Unlimited Aerobatic Champion and serves as Captain of the U.S. Unlimited Aerobatic Team. Over the course of his competitive career, he has represented the United States in international competition and has been selected to multiple U.S. Aerobatic Teams in both the Advanced and Unlimited categories.

He competes and performs in the Extra 330SC, one of the world’s most capable unlimited aerobatic aircraft. Through both competition and airshow performances, Jeff demonstrates the precision, discipline, and artistry of high-level aerobatic flying to audiences across the United States and internationally.

Jeff is also co-creator and pilot of the Yak-110, a one-of-a-kind twin-fuselage aerobatic aircraft built from two Yak-55M airframes with a jet engine mounted between them. The aircraft has become one of the most distinctive and recognizable performers on the airshow circuit.

Beyond flying, Jeff is actively involved in aircraft restoration and maintenance projects, including war birds such as the CCF Harvard Mk IV, and enjoys mentoring developing pilots while helping support the continued growth of the aerobatic community.

Mike teaches and flight instructs as an Associate Professor of Aviation at the University of North Dakota (UND), specializing in Aerodynamics, Aircraft Systems, Human Factors, and Aerobatics.

  • Engage with Technology:
Attendees can get hands-on experience by downloading the ACROWRX app, a platform used by competition and airshow pilots for flight evaluation and improvement.
The app allows you to follow the flights from multiple angles, from the pilot's view to the judge's view, enabling you to score the flights in real-time. Join in the excitement and add your scores to the mix.

ACROWRX APP : How does it work?
When the IAC Demo starts, you'll be able to watch the flights with three different views:
    • CHASE VIEW — follow the aircraft and rotate around it in 3D
    • JUDGE VIEW — the same perspective seen by the official judges
    • MAP VIEW — shows the flight path over the aerobatic box

On the screen, you’ll see the Aresti Code — a diagram that represents the maneuver the pilot is flying. Think of it as the "sheet music" for an aerobatic pilot. You’ll be able to score each pilot’s performance. It’s a great way to participate in the demo! You can submit your scores only once.
